White Rod Documentary Premieres, Disappears!

In 1996, local TV meteorologist Vance VanPuffelen began work on White Rod: A Hero for the 21st Century, the definitive, behind the scenes documentary about the making of the White Rod TV series and movie. A rough cut premiered at the 1997 DragonCon, in Atlanta, to great critical acclaim.

Unfortunately, a finished version was never released, as Vance VanPuffelen disappeared while on assignment to cover the weather in the foreign country of Upper Moraivia as part of the International Meteorologist Exchange Program. The edit master for the hour long documentary vanished alongside Vance.

Our love and support go out to Vance's mother, Mrs. VanPuffelen, and we have every confidence that Vance will turn up alive and well any day now, hopefully with the edit master in tow.
