White Rod Producers Hold Landmark Press Conference to announce New Movie and cancellation of TV series.
Harbor City: The producers of the marginally popular TV series White Rod held a press conference today to announce its cancellation. This came as a surprise to no one except perhaps the mentally deficient, as industry insiders have been predicting the end now for several months.
|
The shocker was the announcement of a big-screen version of White Rod, funded largely by french producer Pierre Jaques-Henri Truffault. The gathered press was further surprised by what can only be called the casting coup of the decade: famed recluse Marlon Bronson has been signed on to the cast to play White Rod's father. Other announcements were predictable: David Love will reprise his role from the series as White Rod. Gina Lola Venus, wife of producer-director Francis Weisenbecker, will be the female lead.Another bit of news, while not shocking, was slightly unusual. Covered in a post conference handout was the announcement of a revolutionary new camera that will be used by the production team to bring White Rod's adventures to the big screen. |

To quote from the mimeographed handout: Military grade optics, fine Ukrainian craftsmanship, and unique futuristic design set the Zalliflex 400 apart from other, more expensive, motion picture cameras. Designed from the ground up for high resolution 27 mm color reversal film, the camera's lens utililizes technology originally designed for submarine periscopes. Advanced features include quiet (less than 188 dB) operation, auto focus lens, and a custom lens cap. This camera was hand-picked by cinematographer Vittorio Alvenucci for the filming of the White Rod movie. |
