Three Dead at Bloody Benefit
Movie's future unsure after bizarre shoot-out.
Actor Jake Thrust, star of the upcoming The White Rod Movie, is in a coma following a shootout with police at a benefit thrown in his honor Saturday.
Jake Thrust took 35 people hostage at the gala, claiming they were all part of "an atheistic Masonic conspiracy to spread Satan worship through the Communist Liberal Media Establishment."Three attendees were killed and five more injured when police stormed the Historic Lucas Theater, in Downtown Harbor City. Among those killed was hairstylist and makeup expert Candi Sweetwater, who had been part of the White Rod production team for over five years. Eyewitnesses stated that Jake shot Ms. Sweetwater because "he claimed that she gave him bad hair."
Among the injured was Daniel Merskovitz, a cameraman for TV-32, sister company of The Coastal Empire Daily News.
The names of the other victims are being withheld pending notification of their families.
It is not yet known if the other two people killed were shot by Thrust or by stray bullets from the police officers.
Thrust will face murder charges if he ever regains consciousness.
Plans for the White Rod movie are currently on hold, according to a spokesperson for Rod White Productions.
